As such, we are looking for a very special person to join our team for a fixed 6 month period as a paid UX/UI Design Intern.
What’s the role about?
We’re looking for a curious, motivated UX/UI Design Intern to join our design team. You’ll support our designers across a range of meaningful projects for clients who are doing good in our community — and you’ll learn a lot along the way.
This is a paid fixed term internship designed to help you build real-world experience. You’ll get hands-on exposure to how a digital agency works, how projects move from discovery through to delivery, and how great design decisions are made with users, accessibility, and outcomes in mind.
You’ll contribute to designing engaging digital experiences, help create clear design artefacts, and support the wider project team as ideas turn into real products.
About you
- First and foremost, you’re a good person and want your work to make a real impact
- You’re curious and thoughtful — you like asking “why?” and learning what sits behind a problem
- You’re proactive, organised, and enjoy working collaboratively with others
- You’re open to feedback and keen to grow your skills
- You care about designing inclusive, accessible experiences
- You have a portfolio (or examples of work) that show your design thinking and visual ability
- Bonus: You have an interest in user research and testing
Skills and experience (what we’re looking for)
- Some experience (study, self-driven projects, volunteer work, or part-time roles) creating UX/UI design work
- An understanding of core UX concepts like user journeys, wireframes, prototyping, design systems and usability
- Comfort using design tools, specifically Figma
- Ability to explain your thinking and communicate clearly with your team and our clients
- An interest in working in a practical, delivery-focused environment (often sprint-based)
What you’ll do (with support and guidance)
- Support the design of websites and other digital products alongside senior designers
- Help produce design artefacts such as user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and simple prototypes
- Contribute to ideation and early-stage thinking — learning how to solve real design problems
- Assist with workshop prep, note-taking, and synthesis of findings
- Help ensure designs follow best practice and accessibility guidelines
- Prepare and present your work to the internal team for feedback and iteration
- Work closely with developers and project teams to learn how designs are implemented
